God The Ebay Parnter Network Has Gone in the Toilet!
I can’t hold it anymore. The Ebay Partner Network also know as EPN has lost my trust. Now with this being the internet, I am not going to call them flat out crooks. But anyone who has been a member since the Commission Junction days has seen a trail of changes that benefits Ebay but kicks their affiliates in the jewels. Tsk, tsk, tsk Ebay. Now unfortunately, I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of being screwed in one way or another by every tentacle of Ebay, with the exception being skype. I tried my free call and it worked pretty awesome.
But I was a powerseller on Ebay, they changed the feedback system, BOOM my cases of fraud jump dramatically. However despite being proven wrong in the past, each and everytime we went through the Paypal resolution system, I mistakenly thought I had a chance at winning my case. Or worse, sometimes I would win and they couldn’t recover the funds. LOL bye bye free merchandise. Of course it wasn’t free for me but I digress. So…so far I got Ebay whipping out the KY to grease up its Playpal, er I mean Paypal. Throw in EPN and the threeway is comeplete.
Now I’ve read the horror stories of all the poor schmoes who set out in Internet Marketing hoping to make money online and find that they can’t satisfy the ebay partner network approval process. I don’t know the particulars, but what I don’t get it is, why Ebay is making it hard for legit marketers to get approved? Another question for another day I supposed.
However the main point of this post is the Ebay Partner Network sucking so royally now. Why now you’re probably wondering if you’re not familiar with them, or if you’ve been a member only a couple of months? Whats causing affiliates to convulse in agony is the fact that they have switched to this uber secret, shrouded in mystery cost per click thingy where basically they can pay their affiliates whatever they want. Whereas we went from the somewhat above board system of being paid on a per action basis, it morphed into a subjective quality of customer mumbo jumbo, and then into the even more ambiguous system they have now.
I decided to write this post for those who want to sound off and give your experiences with EPN since the switch. It boggles my mind how a company that has one of the more meteoric rises to prominence would be silly enough to bite the hands that feed them. Oh yes Ebay thats right, your sellers, and your affiliates feed you! I wanted to keep this post as brief as possible, but feel free to comment and tell us your pro or con EPN stories. The truth will set us all free. Ebay, get it together.
